Limited edition earrings for Heide Museum of Modern Art

I am delighted to share with you my limited edition earrings that are part of the the ongoing Heide Editions program. Initially started in celebration of Heide’s 40th anniversary a number of Australian artists and designers were invited to create new, limited edition artworks and objects that capture their personal response to the museum’s legacy.

My ‘placecode’ earrings are my response to Heide Museum, its history and the current Sidney Nolan Exhibition - Search for Paradise. Limited to an edition of 40 they can be ordered via the Heide Museum online store.

‘Designing these earrings became an exercise in making connections of personal importance. Through my experiences of visiting Heide, seeing Sidney Nolan’s work and researching his life, I realised an overlapping of place with my own experience that I found intriguing.

'The intervention of stamping the earrings with the postal codes of both Heide and Hydra is how I expressed these links. The black square is iconic in Nolan’s work, while the reticulated surface on each earring is evidence of my interest in ancient goldsmithing techniques. Each pair of earrings is unique through my process of hand-crafting and stamping.’
